A New Awareness of Hips, Shoulders & Spine

October 02, 2016 – October 07, 2016
Location:Rhinebeck, NY
Tuition: $450
Continuing Education: 22.5 hours
Fulfills 1 Teacher Training Requirement for Matt Giordano's 300hr TT

Anatomy isn’t very helpful to your yoga practice if it’s just a list of which bones and muscles make up the body. Applied anatomy goes beyond the facts to give you a kinesthetic understanding of how your body moves and what it’s capable of doing. It is a practical approach to anatomy for yoga teachers who wish to take their own practice and their students’ practice to new levels.

In this workshop with Matt Giordano, you learn the applied anatomy of the hips, shoulders, and spine and experience the power available in you to change and deepen yoga asanas.

Through in-depth discussion, demonstrations, hands-on work, yoga classes, and teaching practice, you learn specific and practical techniques to increase your awareness of these areas of the body and gain mastery over their function. You also develop the skills to successfully communicate these concepts to your students.

While the workshop is focused on training teachers, those who do not teach are also welcome and are not expected to practice teaching. Open to all levels—everyone is encouraged to challenge themselves based on their current practice.
