“When Matt Giordano played guitar and sang during Savasana, I had to pinch myself to make sure I was still in this world. Beautiful and transformative, his Slow Flow Meditation class is led with precision and care. (10:30am, PURE Yoga East, 203 E. 86th St., Manhattan)”

AcroYoga Workshop Progress
After 3 weeks and moving onto the 4th of AcroYoga at Reflections Yoga Studio, we are rockin it out. We have presented the students with some major challenges both physically and emotionally. within the first two weeks some students found it difficult to trust others, and/or them selves. By the third week a noticeable energy shift has taken place. A greater feel that the whole room is supporting one another. The students are no longer coming for their own personal gain, but more for the connection they have found with each other. As a teacher we get to be more involved in this energy and enjoy it. the container is set and now the possibilities are endless…the walls will be pushed and the lid has the potential to be removed.
Last night my co-teacher Mary Aranas asked a great question: what is your light in times of darkness…or something close to that. My answer was my guide, Brian. Brian is someone Ive only known for a short period of time and never really got all that close to. Something about him was so bright that he continues to guide me especially when I lose my sense of grounding. Funny that I look up when I loose my ground.
Anyway that is a whole other topic to be discussed perhaps at another time. What I wanted to share was a quote, since a few students said Inspirational quotes guided them. This quote is from Brian’s memorial card. “I haven’t a clue as to how my story will end. but thats all right. When you set out on a journey and the night covers the road, that’s when you discover the stars.”–Nancy Willard
