    I have “snapping shoulder” and unfortunately it is also often some kind of blocked. Which get me into difficulties during a lot of poses (pain or just a feeling of something isnt right in the shoulder) Otherwise more than enough strength inmy shoulders.
    So I took this immersion to find ways to do yoga and protect my shoulder. Building more awareness. Most importantly, building healthy/safe ways to go into a pose. Something to continue in the future when I do yoga and taking care of my body.
    This immersion did all this for me: the education, the body awareness and building the safe routines. I love the attention to anatomical details. It is been helping so much.
    Definitely something that will continue to show results in my yoga practice for years to come.
    I can now access a lot of poses safely and confidentely … or at least work on them , hey I am not at a professional and have a life beyond yoga.

    (fyi: 49 years old, rather moderate yoga level, never been a dancer or gymnast or something the like, started yoga in my mid-thirties)

    I was at first sceptical whether the immersions are OK for my level bc of the peak poses which I knew I could never do. But approx. 95% of the class is kind of preparing for it and learning the underlying techniques, i.e. laying a solid foundation. So I noticed a great deal of progress from that. And yes, sometimes I did even get into the peak pose and was astonished. Not that it matters …

    My right shoulder hurt when doing arm balances and handstands when then this immersion came up and I gave it a try. After two full rounds the pain has almost disappeared. I am more aware of how my shoulders move and understand much better their movements. I will do more rounds of this immersion as it’s helping me immensely. This was my first immersion with Matt but it will not be the last one.

FAQs

Do I have to attend live?
All classes will be saved for you immediately after the livestream class is complete. You have lifetime access and can watch anytime after the livestream, and you do not need to attend live to get the full benefits of the immersion.
Is this all-levels appropriate?
Yes! You are not expected to be at any specific level. This is not a performance, it is an immersion that helps you develop your practice.
I am a yoga teacher. Can I use this for Yoga Alliance CE Hours?
Yes! You may submit any hours practiced online or in person to Yoga Alliance and receive hours toward your Continued Education.
Is this just study, or is it practice as well?

Each class will consist of 75 minutes in a standard yoga class format: intro, warm-up, sun salutations,  peak posture, cool down, Savasana. Technique, biomechanics, and anatomy will be woven through the entire class.

Can I ask questions about my practice?
Yes, if you are attending the livestreams, you will be able to use the chat to ask any questions that you’d like. I address some questions as we practice, and I take time at the end of class to go through questions as well. If you are not attending the livestream, you can use the private Facebook group to ask me any questions that come up during your practice. You may submit videos of yourself practicing a pose for assessment and feedback.

Matt‘s classes are phenomenal- if you ever have the ability to practice with him, make use of it!! He has a very unique talent of combining anatomy, yoga philosophy and his own perspective into a super intense package of knowledge which is fun AND easy to understand. I enjoyed the April immersion a lot as it was a great way of deepening my own practice and broadening my horizon, especially as the lifetime access allows you to take classes

Covid_19 bought Matt into my home and my yoga practice. This last month I have learn’t so much it has deepened my practice and my understanding of the anatomy & biomechanics and how we use both in every asana we practice. He has also helped in my teaching, ie asking my students to think about the foot as a tripod “big toe, pinkie toe, heel ” I never imagined I would learn so much from the immersion.
